Blizzard has mentioned that you will be soon able to trade commodities in the Diablo 3 real money auction house. Community manager kaivax has posted that gold trading will be enabled later and won’t be included in the current update.
“The ability to trade gold as a commodity won’t be included in this initial update, but we hope to enable it in the near future. Keep an eye on this thread
This update comes at a time when Blizzard is trying to retain the players after having publicly admitted that the game does not have enough end-game content as they would have liked.
“We recognize that the item hunt is just not enough for a long-term sustainable end-game,” Blizzard community manager Bashiok wrote on Battle.net.
“There are still tons of people playing every day and week, and playing a lot, but eventually they’re going to run out of stuff to do (if they haven’t already). Killing enemies and finding items is a lot of fun, and we think we have a lot of the systems surrounding that right, or at least on the right path with a few corrections and tweaks.”
